Since a player must retire after their sixth season in the league, you will need a new player after he is gone, so why not get started early. This idea was brought over from the NXFL, then modified a little to fit this leagues rules.
To start it off you will either create a college player (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior; your choice) or use a current college player as your freshmeat player. But there are limits to what college player you may select. The rules are as follows:
1. Created Players
a.) All Attributes start at 40 except Stamina= 90, Injury=90, and Toughness=70
b.) Add 100 points to your player (99 is the Max per attribute)
2. Existing College Players
a.) Senior (Max OVR= 94)
b.) Junior (Max OVR= 88)
c.) Sophomore (Max OVR= 82)
d.) Freshman (Max OVR= 75)
After you make or announce your freshmeat player, its time to start your college career. You have the follow options:
1.) If you use an existing college player
a.) you will play for that team- no other options
2.) If you are a created Sophomore, Junior, or Senior
a.) you have the choice to play for any team you want
b.) have you randomly assigned (transfered) to a college
3.) If you are a created Freshman
a.) you can be a High School Prospect- and be scouted by colleges*
b.) You can be a walk on- go to the school of your choice
* You will informed throughout the entire Recruiting process
As a mentor you can either help him improve faster or just worry about yourself. When you are purchasing from your contract after you are drafted, you can drop some of that cash for freshmeat to improve a little with a purchase for him. The same goes for in TC, use four days for you and you could use one for your freshmeat. Same works with Performance Points, you get some for preforming well, you can throw some the freshmeats way. He will gain some points in college for performance points, but you like mentioned early, can share attribute points to faster improve the college star. Of course, the freshmeat will gain attributes and special attributes for awards such as Pac Ten 1st, NCAA 1st, or even Heisman.
Once the player finishes his college career, you have two options with the freshmeat. You can:
(1)Retire your player- Have him as your new player
(2)Have him play in the Minor Leagues- gaining Performance Points at a beginner level until your player is ready to be retired.
